First Priestess: Lady Serenity

The First Priestess is responsible for ensuring that the Council of Elders and its members:

  • are aware of and fulfill their governance responsibilities;
  • comply with applicable Tradition laws and bylaws;
  • conduct Council business effectively and efficiently;
  • are accountable for their performance.

In order to fulfill these responsibilities, and subject to the organization's bylaws, the First Priestess presides over meetings, proposes policies and practices, sits on various committees, monitors the performance of Directors and Officers, submits various reports to the Council, to funders, and to other "stakeholders"; proposes the creation of committees; appoints members to such committees; and performs other duties as the need arises and/or as defined in the bylaws. 

Accountability 

The First Priestess is accountable to the Council of Elders as specified in the bylaws. The First Priestess may delegate specific duties to Council members and/or committees as appropriate; however, the accountability for them remains with the First Priestess.

Specific Duties 

Meetings 

The First Priestess ensures that an agenda is planned for board meetings. This may involve periodic meetings with committee chairpersons  to draft annual and meeting agendas and reporting schedules. 

The First Priestess presides over meetings of the Council of Elders. In this capacity, the First Priestess: 

·         chairs meetings according to accepted rules of order for the purposes of 

o        encouraging all members to participate in discussion;

o        arriving at decisions in an orderly, timely and democratic manner; 

·         votes as prescribed in the bylaws. In boards that operate with an executive committee, the First Priestess performs the above duties for the executive committee.

Board Committees 

The First Priestess serves as an ex-officio member of board committees specified in the bylaws. In this capacity, the First Priestess's role is

·         to serve as a voting member of the committee (if specified in the bylaws);

·         to negotiate reporting schedules;

·         to identify problems and assist the committee chairperson to resolve them, and if necessary, to bring them to the attention of the Council of Wise Ones. 

Community Relations 

The First Priestess ensures that the organization maintains positive and productive relationships with media, funders, donors, and other organizations. In this capacity, the First Priestess serves as primary spokesperson for the organization Duties may include:

·          representing the organization to the media;

·         representing the organization on governmental or nongovernmental organizations and committees;

·         timely and appropriate reporting of Council decisions and actions to members and/or funders and/or donors.

Signing Officer 

The First Priestess is normally designated by the Council of Elders and/or bylaws as one of the signing officers for certain documents. In this capacity, the First Priestess may be authorized or required to sign or countersign cheques, correspondence, applications, reports, contracts or other documents on behalf of organization.

Board Development 

The First Priestess ensures that structures and procedures are in place for effective recruitment, training, and evaluation of board members. 

Fund Raising 

The First Priestess ensures that structures and procedures are in place for securing the resources required by the organization. Depending upon the organization, this may require the First Priestess to play a leadership role in fundraising campaigns through personal contributions of services and money.

Delegation 

Depending upon the organization's needs and its bylaws, the First Priestess may establish or propose the establishment of committees of the Council, and may assign tasks and delegate responsibilities to board committees and/or directors.

Elder Priestess: 

The Elder Priestess is typically successor to the First Priestess.

  1. Is the second most senior member of the Council of Elders.
  2.  Performs First Priestess  responsibilities when the First Priestess cannot be available. (see First Priestess Job Description)
  3.  Reports to the First Priestess.
  4. Works closely with the First Priestess and other Council members.
  5. Participates closely with the First Priestess to develop and implement officer transition plans.
  6. Performs other responsibilities as assigned by the Council.

Elder Priest: Lord Jason

The Elder Priest, along with the Elder Priestess,  is typically successor to the First Priestess.

  1. Is the second most senior member of the Council of Elders.
  2.  Performs First Priestess  responsibilities when the First Priestess cannot be available. (see First Priestess Job Description)
  3.  Reports to the First Priestess.
  4. Works closely with the First Priestess and other Council members.
  5. Participates closely with the First Priestess to develop and implement officer transition plans.
  6. Performs other responsibilities as assigned by the Council.
Scribe:

  1. Is a member of the Council of Elders
  2. Maintains records of the board and ensures effective management of organization's records.
  3. Manages minutes of board meetings.
  4.  Ensures minutes are distributed to members shortly after each meeting.
  5. Is sufficiently familiar with legal documents (articles, by-laws, IRS letters, etc.) to note applicability during meetings.
  6. Will handle all organization correspondence.
Pursewarden: Lady Tegan
  1. 1. Is a member of the Council of Elders.
  2. 2. Manages finances of the organization.
  3. 3. Administrates fiscal matters of the organization.
  4. 4. Provides annual budget to the Council for members' approval
  5. 5. Ensures development and Council review of financial policies and procedures.

Gatekeeper: 

  1. Is a member of the Council of Elders.
  2. Oversees the agenda of all Council of Elders meetings .
  3. Oversees the smooth integration of the agenda into all meetings.
  4. Ensures that meetings run smoothly and are kept on agenda.

Heral: Lady Rheaah

  1. Is a member of the Council of Elders.
  2. Oversees all organization media and public relations communications.
  3. Provides information to the public about the Tradition on a consistent basis
  4. organized public relations campaigns for the Tradition and subordinate organizations as required
  5. Makes all announcements and posts all bulletins concerning Tradition news and events

 

Fundraising Director

  1. Is a member of the Council of Elders.
  2. Oversees all organization fundraising activities.
  3. Seeks out all available sources of funding for the organization.
  4. Works with the Pursewarden to ensure all accounting of fundraising activities are accurate and keep these records in order and up-to-date

 

Visionary: Lord Antonio

  1. Is a member of the Council of Elders.
  2. Oversees all technological function for the Tradition and all its subsidiary organizations
  3. Oversees the use of technology in Tradition publicity.
  4. Ensures that smooth function of all Tradition and subsidiary organization websites.
Guide:  Lord Daniel
  1. Is a member of the Council of Elders.
  2. Oversees all organization HIV education and outreaach programs .
  3. Oversees all organization HIV fund fundraising activities.
  4. Seeks out all available sources of funding for the HIV fund.
  5. Provides education to the entire pagan community about HIV
  6. Works with the Pursewarden to ensure all accounting of HIV fund fundraising activities are accurate and keep these records in order and up-to-date .
Guide:  
  1. Is a member of the Council of Elders.
  2. Oversees all organization youth programs .
  3. Oversees all organization youth fundraising activities.
  4. Seeks out all available sources of funding for the youth organization.
  5. Works with the Pursewarden to ensure all accounting of youth fundraising activities are accurate and keep these records in order and up-to-date .
